Roasting process is a very important thing to produce quality coffee products. While visiting the village of Chess we can still find the roasting process that is conducted traditionally or processed by modern roasting machine. The purpose of doing roasting process is to reduces the moisture content while enhancing the flavour and aroma of the coffee beans. Some of the roasting coffee level based on the resulting color, as follows :

  • Light Roast is the roasting level that produce dark brown colored coffee beans
  • Medium Roast is the roasting level that produce dark brown tend to darken colored coffee beans
  • Medium-Dark Roast is the roasting level that produce dark brown coffee colored coffee beans with a bit of oil out on the its surface
  • Dark Roastis the roasting level that produce dark colored coffee beans that shrouded the oil on the its surface

The fourth of the roasting level has different taste and aroma. The longer the coffee beans roasted in, then it will be more bitter with the increasingly black color.
